Our Mission

The Grey Team Foundation empowers underserved communities and the individuals within them to protect themselves by providing accessible, practical education in both cybersecurity and physical safety. We serve vital community pillars—such as schools, elder care facilities, and local nonprofits—that are often targeted but lack the resources for traditional security training.

What We Do

Our work is centered on empowerment through education. We translate complex security concepts into practical, actionable knowledge for non-technical staff and leaders. Through tailored workshops, hands-on training, and accessible resources like our Cyber Safety Toolkit, we equip institutions with the essential skills needed to protect sensitive information, recognize threats, and foster a culture of security awareness.

Who We Serve

  • Nonprofit Organizations: These vital organizations often serve vulnerable populations or manage sensitive data, but operate with minimal budgets that cannot accommodate dedicated physical and cybersecurity assessments.
  • Public and Private Educational Institutions: We focus on K-12 schools and small private institutions, particularly those in under-resourced districts, where educational priorities often leave no budget for robust security assessments.
  • Elder Care Facilities: We support small, community-focused elder care facilities and non-profits that lack the financial resources to adequately secure their vulnerable residents and sensitive data.
  • Emergency Services: We assist volunteer-led fire departments, ambulance services, and other small, community-funded emergency response teams operating without dedicated security assessment budgets.
  • Libraries and Community Centers: We help public libraries and community centers in areas with significant financial constraints, where discretionary funds for security assessments are non-existent.
  • Rural and Underserved Communities: We provide vital security assessments to minority-owned businesses and organizations serving minority populations within these areas that lack the financial means for such services.
  • Organizations Supporting Veterans and Military Personnel: We support non-profit organizations and volunteer groups dedicated to veterans and military personnel, who often operate with limited budgets that cannot cover specialized security assessments.

Our Educational Framework: The C.V.I.P²-A™ Curriculum

The C.V.I.P²-A™ framework is the backbone of our educational content. We adapted this real-world security methodology into a curriculum designed to teach non-technical audiences how to build a strong safety posture. Each pillar represents a core module in our workshops and toolkits.

  • Cyber Threat Surface Overview – Teaching how to identify and understand the digital systems (websites, cloud services) that are visible to the public and could be targeted.
  • Vulnerability Assessment – Educating on the fundamentals of identifying weaknesses in systems, configurations, and daily practices, emphasizing digital hygiene.
  • Intelligence Collection – Building awareness of common threats like phishing and scams, and teaching how to recognize and report suspicious activity.
  • Pen Test Prep – Explaining the concepts behind security testing so organizations can better understand and prepare for real-world evaluations if they choose to pursue them.
  • Physical Security Evaluation – Providing educational resources on how to assess and improve the safety of physical spaces, including access points, visitor policies, and environmental awareness.
  • Assessment And Recommendations – Guiding organizations on how to create their own simple, actionable safety plans based on our educational materials.
